Well, you’re going to love Norwalk City Limits, a new five-day music extravaganza taking place at restaurants, shops and attractions across the city.
“Norwalk City Limits is a massive five-day schedule of live music performances which embraces all styles of music from acoustic rock, pop, jazz, fusion, country, and even children’s music,” said Linda Kavanagh, director of Norwalk Now, the collaborative marketing group that is presenting the events.
The event, which will run from Jan 24 to 28, is designed to showcase area musicians, create local foot traffic and relieve cabin fever.
Local acoustic favorite Griffin Anthony will entertain at Peaches Southern Pub & Juke Joint, while the new Wall Street Theater will welcome Tom “The Suit” Forst, the Jason Gisser Band and the Doug Wahlberg Band.
Guitar genius Glenn Roth will play The Spread and Washington Prime will offer a jazz brunch with Bob Stewart and the New Orleans Beatniks.
Head to The Maritime Aquarium for Music Together of Fairfield County or stop by Killer B for the indie/folk stylings of singer-songwriter Maribyrd.
In all, there are more than 30 performances scheduled.
In addition, Norwalk Now restaurants will offer “City Grub,” a prix fixe menu for a true dinner-and-a-show experience.
Norwalk City Limits will also hold a social media contest in search of spirited City Limits groupies.
Budding groupies need only submit photos of themselves taken with Norwalk City Limits musicians throughout the week. The groupies with the most pictures submitted will be entered to win a $500 gift package from Norwalk Now.
“We are all looking forward to a great week of live music and dining,” said Washington Prime owner Rob Moss, “Creating excitement within our town and working alongside our fellow business owners is what has helped establish Norwalk, and will continue to grow Norwalk as a true destination city in New England.”
